Farewell Dubai

farewell dubaiFarewell Dubai

Saying farewell is part of life but more so in Dubai.  People are forever arriving and leaving!  Anyone who lives in Dubai can honestly tell you that the goodbyes are rough.  This is definitely a city in transit.  A stepping stone for most youngsters as they climb the career ladder.

This has been the case for Mike.  He left South Africa for job experience as a Physiotherapist in Dubai and has been offered a wonderful position in the UK.  A dream job and one that he has worked hard for.  I wish him well in his new position.

A Rondebosch Old Boy!

I have known Mike for quite a few years as he was at Rondebosch High School with my boys and he was always a perfect young gentleman with the most beautiful manners.

I have only recently met his lovely young wife, Fran.  She has the kindest heart and is forever rescuing abandoned animals.  Luckily, I won’t have to say farewell to them for too long as they have asked me to take their wedding photos towards the end of the year.

This is fairly normal for young couples living in Dubai.  They get married before arriving or just after as its against the law to live together here without being married.

Most young couples then save up and go home and have their dream wedding. Fran and Mike will be heading home to have a proper wedding in October.

I wish them every success as they start their next adventure together!  Au revoir!
